Under Chinare law
the discovery of such autiable goous
at Chinese ports renuers the shipowners
liable to punishment, it is obviously
in the interest of the shipping companies
to prevent autiable articles being shipped,
without their knowleage. The enforcement
of Chinese revenue laws is not a matter
which can be regarded as the concern of
the Hong Kong Government, or of the Jourts
